 The summer months offer sunshine and warm weather, meaning there's far more time to be spent outside having fun than snuggling under a blanket indoors and munching on comfort food to stay warm. Motivating yourself to lose weight in summer is much easier than in winter. In summer you can take advantage of the heat and the many outdoor activities.

Get out in the sun every day. The sun on your face will motivate you to lose weight because you'll love going to a pool and lounging in a bikini while soaking up some rays - with sunscreen on your skin, of course. The sun is enough to motivate you to get fit because you want to do something outside to make the most of the summer months.

Instead of meeting up with friends at a coffee shop or club, find other ways to spend time together and share the latest gossip. Go roller skating on the boardwalk or in your suburbs. Spend the weekend hiking and camping in the mountains. Find a lake or river and go kayaking or sailing. Learn to swim or surf if there's a beach near you. The fruit provides you with many nutrients, satisfies your cravings for sugar and helps you lose weight. The same applies to vegetables. No need to stuff your plate full of pasta, potatoes and fatty meats. Pick your favorite vegetables and sauté them before arranging them on a large plate. You'll think you're eating more, but in fact you'll be consuming fewer calories and you'll be more motivated to use the summer to lose weight.

Summer is the best time to lose weight and stay motivated to actually achieve your weight loss goals. You don't have to wrap yourself in thick sweaters and sweatpants. Bikinis, shorts, skirts and camisoles are all the rage this summer, and you'll want to look your best.
